How does Onbord's AI work?

Onbord helps recruiters evaluate and screen candidates using artificial intelligence.

Onbord's AI:

  • reads job postings and identifies the skills that matter for the role

  • generates realistic job simulations based on those skills

  • analyzes candidate responses

  • produces scores and recommendations, with supporting evidence

  • helps organize and rank applications

Automated screening, human decision

Onbord's qualifying screening (a short set of pass/fail questions on baseline requirements such as language, experience, or location) is applied automatically before a candidate proceeds to the full assessment. Beyond this initial screening, Onbord never makes a final hiring decision.

Results generated by the AI are used only as:

  • screening assistance

  • shortlisting support

  • an analysis tool

The final decision on any candidate always belongs to the recruiter or client company.

Data analyzed

Depending on the client company's choices, Onbord may analyze:

  • responses to job simulation exercises

  • responses to AI-assisted interviews

  • detected skills

  • criteria defined by the client company

Score transparency

Scores generated by Onbord come with explanations to help recruiters understand:

  • which criteria were assessed

  • which skills were detected

  • what evidence was taken into account

Bias mitigation

Onbord works to limit algorithmic bias by:

  • keeping a human at the center of the decision

  • avoiding fully automated hiring decisions

  • enabling human oversight at every stage

  • explaining generated scores with supporting evidence

Data protection

Data used by the AI:

  • is not used to train the underlying models

  • remains protected in accordance with GDPR

  • is stored within the European Union
